Terrible school. I attended Willunga High from years 8-10, and as a bright student who was looking to better my life, Willunga High took minimal steps into helping me grow as a person. The teachers at willunga have a complete disregard for a students development, learning, and social skills. I was bullied by teachers at this school to the point where I had to stop doing conventional schooling and I had to look into other means of education. When sharing that I wanted to naturally source as much food as possible during a class, the teacher responded "Oh, so you want to be a bum". The teachers are not afraid to use words such as "dumb" and "dropkick" to describe challenged students. I have numerous amounts of friends who have been hurt on a personal level by the teacher, and its not okay. The level of learning that goes on at willunga is terrible, as alot of the teachers dont engage with the students as much as they should. Things like being in a lesson for 50 minutes before being told to do any work, or being handed work that is straight off the internet is not uncommon in willunga. The extracurricular activities at willunga are honestly fantastic for the students interested, but a large majority of the time these arent disscussed among students and teachers, and theyre generally not placed into lessons theyve chosen. The leadership is grossly unorganised and unfair on the students and teachers at this school, and they usually turn a blind eye to any problems at this school. A great example of this is personal experience of mine is when upon asking what has happened about some of the issues i raised weeks prior, the year level coordinator laughed and said "oops i forgot". If you persist in telling them any issues, they do the bare minimum and assure you that they have tried everything.The kids at Willunga are definitely deciplined, but usually this has more to do with a teachers feelings towards a student rather than actual punishment. Ive seen a student get suspended for refusing follow instruction to get up after being hit in the balls by a football, whilst in excruciating pain, where as the kids sitting around taunting him did not even get a warning. This week long suspension got issued on the first day of the new school year.Willunga high is an excellent school if youre looking for dodgey school fees, a bad environment, and lack of education
